Karinochi is a herb found in Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It is widely used in folk medicine, especially in South and Southeast Asia. Its leaves, which can be easily cultivated in the home garden, are mainly used for medicinal purposes. It can grow up to 5 meters tall. Flowers are the smallest of the commonly grown Vitex species. It is a branching plant that grows three meters or more in height.
Used by Ayurvedic practitioners for centuries to treat the symptoms of arthritis and many other ailments. The primary use of karinochi is to relieve arthritic and rheumatic pain. The leaves are used as a mosquito repellent . leaves are burnt in a heap which proves very useful to get rid of Mosquitoes.
