Golden Mootty Fruit is golden-yellow variety of mootty. It is a tree native to the forests of Kerala, India. Also known as Muttippuli, Muttikappan, or Muttika. This is a rare tree of the Endemic species of Western Ghats. The plant is so named because it bears fruit on the wood of the tree.
Mooty tree can see in evergreen forests of South India. The flowers are in wood. Although the fruit is rarely present on the branches, the most frequent occurrence of fruits is in the trunk of the tree The flower season is from January to March. The flowers have no petals.
